A Message from the V.P.

Hello, my name is Jasper. Sitting at home all day waiting for my mom to get home was getting really old. At least if I was a kid I could go to day care, but I'm not, I'm a mix between a Beagle and a Corgi, a dog, and I was bored.

Contrary to popular belief, we dogs just don't go back to bed the moment you leave in the morning, there is a lot of downtime and laying on the couch in a sunny spot or chewing on a bone can get really old. We miss our family. I had come to discover that the moment my mom would leave in the morning would be the worst part of my day, because I knew it was going to be a long time until I saw her again.

She would leave really early in the morning, many times before the sun came up. She would wake up in the morning, spend very little time with me, have to rush to get ready and then rush out the door. I know she had to go to work, you can't blame her for that, but I felt sad because it looked like it was making her so unhappy and so stressed out. It didn't look like a walk in the park if you get my drift.

Finally, my day would brighten the moment she walked back in the door at night. I would be so excited to see her, I could barely contain myself. I would be eager to show her my toys, and go for a walk, and have fun with her, but she was so tired, she couldn't do much before it was time for her to go to bed and then the next day she would have to get up and do it all over again. We were both miserable.

Then one day she came home and she had a spring in her step. She kept telling me she had a great idea. I wagged my tail, enthused by her excitement! Something big must be happening!

My mom started spending time researching websites online, they all had to do with home swapping. I wasn't sure what that was, but mom kept saying, "This can't just be for vacationers! It has to be for me too!" I would sit next to her, eager to see what she would do next.

When I said my mom had something going on, boy did she!
